When tattoos and fashion collide...

It has been a mission for most cosmetic companies to make lipstick and makeup in general last longer. After many time consuming experiments and a lot of wasted money they finally had a break. Why not tattoo those goddamn things. The problem is that no matter how fashion sensitive a woman is, she will at least know that tattoos are permanent, which is not exactly in the true fashion spirit.

Don’t worry though, inspired by those confused teenagers who only want a tattoo during summertime, they are now using semi-permanent tattoos. This is becoming rather confusing, because a tattoo was supposed to last… well… forever. This is what made them so cool in the first place. The designs were aiming to be more or less timeless, so they wouldn’t lose their appeal over time.

The first thing to observe is surely the psychological reassurance that a tattoo can provide. Large sum that significant number of Harvard Law School students have tattoos. These students can seem terribly privileged, but we need to understand their profound dilemma. They epitomize the striving young men and women who discipline themselves to produce exactly the right resume to ensure the fullest possible participation in our productive and rich society. But our post-1960s culture holds such conformist personalities in disdain. Thus the profound appeal of the symbols of transgressive individuality: a pierced eyebrow, hair dyed a fluorescent color, a tattoo. It’s a way of saying, “There’s a real me that can’t be reduced to everything I’ve had to do in order to be successful.
